Target Audience: Architects and AHJs

Understanding the application of the building code to work occurring in existing structures is critical to ensure the overall success of a project. This presentation will allow participants to recognize some of the key code thresholds which can have a high-impact on a project's scope, budget, and schedule if not properly captured early in the design process. Content will be presented in two main parts, with the first part being a detailed discussion of project navigation in the existing building code and key code triggers. While, the second part will explore the impact of these code provisions utilizing project case studies, including lessons learned.
